Diet - Fried foods should be avoided. Reduce intake of fats, dairy products, sugars, chocolate, seafood, and peanuts. Increase green leafy vegetables and raw foods. Eat a whole foods diet.

Biotin – Biotin is a water-soluble B vitamin that helps to break down fats, carbohydrates, and proteins. A typical dosage for dandruff is 3,000 mcg two times per day.

Food sources of biotin include brewer's yeast, dietary yeast, whole grains, nuts, egg yolks, sardines, liver, cauliflower, bananas, and mushrooms.

Home Remedies for Dandruff

1. Soak fenugreek seeds in water. Leave them overnight. In the morning, grind this to a paste. Apply this paste on the scalp and leave for half an hour before you shampoo your hair.

2. Margosa oil / warm coconut oil/ castor oil massaged into the scalp once a week helps to cure a dry and itchy scalp. Massage the oil into the scalp using the tips of your fingers and a gentle circular motion. Shampoo your hair the following day. You can use margosa based shampoo, or soap nuts as shampoo, for better results.

3. Apply a mix of olive oil and almond oil in equal quantities on the scalp. When it begins to burn, approximately after five minutes, wash off with shampoo. Follow this once a week. This is an outstanding dandruff remedy that shows results within a few weeks.

4. Take some rosemary leaves and soak overnight in a liter of boiled water. Strain and add two teaspoons of vinegar. Shampoo your hair and then apply this preparation as a natural dandruff remedy.

5. Rub aloe vera gel into your scalp, leave it for ten minutes, and then shampoo your hair. This is one of the simplest dandruff remedies.

6. Add one tablespoon of apple juice to three tablespoons of warm water and massage into the scalp. This is also a good dandruff home remedy.

7. Crush ten aspirin and mix with shampoo. Use this frequently as a dandruff remedy.
