And why is it that curtains always seem to be ten times larger when they are down? Surely they must have grown quite a bit in the wash? But don’t worry, it is almost over now; all you have left to do is replace all of the rings on the pole, reinsert each of the hooks and get them hanging up again in some kind of presentable style.

You are now probably beginning to realise that curtains involve a lot of work. If you have not yet experienced this ‘curtain hygiene ritual’ then you are lucky. But sooner or later your time will come! Unless, that is, you choose an alternative...

If you fancy bringing your home up to date (and seriously reducing your housework) then you really should consider getting some Blinds. Your home will look neater, lighter and far more modern from the moment you put them up. And when it is time to give them a clean it will be a quicker and far easier job. It will be a simple matter of wiping them over with a damp cloth or whipping across them with a duster, depending on which material you have chosen.
