Every so often you can find hot trends when a style or specific taste is well-liked. Most of these trends are gone just as fast as they came and are nowhere to be observed. There is a single trend in specific that hasn't shown any signs of slowing down or being just one more forgetten trend. Yes, I'm talking about cubic zirconia jewelry which is quickly replacing old fashioned diamonds.

CZ (cubic zirconia) is the crystalline form of zirconium dioxide, which can be one more way of saying it's a synthetic man produced diamond. Both diamonds and cubic zirconia have no color and are mostly transparent. Unless of course you buy a gemstone, but each diamonds and CZ rank the same on the color scale. In addition, these are both cut precisely utilizing the same laser technologies. One more obvious similarity to those who have observed them is that they appear identical to the naked eye.

Now, you maybe asking yourself, if these are so similar why are the price structures so different? Good question! Ten years ago I was asking myself the similar question you are today. I chose CZ's and definately haven't looked back ever since. CZ's have surely been giving diamonds fantastic amounts of competition and these are quickly replacing them in modern jewelry stores all over the planet.

The idea of replacing of replacing diamonds with other, a lot more affordable gems as been around since the ancient civilizations ruled the earth. Ancient Egyptians painted wooden gems about the coffins of royalty. Much later, in the 1700's, Europeans chose to accessorize in paste jewels created from cut glass. Nowadays, shady foreign gem dealers cautiously location molded silvered or colored foil paper is set behind diamonds and other gems to give them the a greater brilliance

It took almost a full 100 years to get towards the stage in science where natural diamonds could be quickly replicated into quality man made synthetic diamonds known as cubic zirconia diamonds. After all the work has been done why would you ever settle for that diamond above the cubic zirconia? I hope you'll select CZ from now on when it comes to wearing fine jewelry!
