They will have huge quantities of food at one time as they tend to eat quickly without chewing. Such episodes will be followed by feelings of depression and guilt. Patients of compulsive eating disorder will keep fantasizing about food and will eat even when they are not hungry. They will spend a lot of time thinking about food and will fantasize about eating alone.

Compulsive eating disorder will lead to a lot of physical & metal problems such as weight gain, obesity, high cholesterol, diabetes, heart diseases, kidney diseases, hyper tension, major depression, etc. Long term side effects include bone deterioration, arthritis and stroke. These patients will suffer from inferiority complex and low self esteem. They will have problems leading a normal and healthy life, and their family life will also get affected due to this disease.

Professional treatment is recommended for patients of binge eating/ compulsive eating disorder. binge eating disorder treatment is available in all drug rehabilitation centers. This disorder can be treated with counseling and therapy. Most of the patients who go through binge compulsive/binge eating disorder treatments will recover completely or will have significant reduction in their disease. Before the treatment begins these patients will go through an initial assessment by the doctors who will try and understand the patients complete life, and address issues such as social experiences, family and culture. The behavioral patterns which emerge due to emotional problems, resulting in binge eating, will be resolved so that they develop a healthier relationship with food.
