iPhones are ubiquitous devices that we tend to use a huge amount throughout the day. Most of us once we have an iPhone will carry it on us 24/7 and will use it for hundreds of different things throughout the day – whether it's sending and receiving texts and e-mails, making phone calls, taking pictures or playing games.

Of course this is all very useful and highly practical, the only problem is that it also means that you end up increasing the likelihood that the phone will get lost or damaged. If you're using it to do everything then that's an awful lot of opportunity for you to drop it, step on it, download malicious software etc. Here we will look at some of the various ways in which iPhones tend to get damaged and need iPhone repairs etc.

First of all, one way in which you are likely to get a broken iPhone is by dropping your iPhone into a body of water. Most people at one time or another have dropped their phone into the toilet bowl, a bowl of soup or the tea they were drinking and this is a very quick and reliable way to get a broken iPhone.

This can often be avoided however and in many cases the iPhone is dropped because the person was multitasking. If you are drinking tea and texting at the same time with one hand, then you are very much risking dropping it, and likewise you shouldn't use the phone while you are on the toilet. The iPhone is in many ways a lot more practical and easy to use than the older makes of phones that we have used in the past that had fewer features etc. However the iPhone does fall down on the fact that it can only be used safely with two hands. While you might be used to texting under the table with your thumb or while eating, you now need more concentration to compose messages.

Of course you can also end up with a broken iPhone because you dropped it onto the floor where there was no water and this is also a common cause of a broken iPhone. To avoid this happening again make sure to use both hands when you use your phone, and also to avoid taking photos at arm's length. This is something most people do – but if you're at a concert or standing on the edge of something, then it's also a sure fire way to lose or irreparably damage your iPhone.

Some games also make you more likely to drop your iPhone. These games include things like golf games where you have to swing the phone in the same way as you would swing a golf club and rely on the phone's internal motion sensors to gauge the power and trajectory of your hit. You need to make sure not to play these games when outside or near anything breakable, and to make sure that you have a good protective case for the phone that adds some extra grip to the phone so that you don't accidentally let go of it and so launch it across the area.
