The Wild beat the relatively flat Avs 3-two in a important Northwest Division game that leapfrogged Minnesota above Colorado for the eighth and last Western Conference playoff berth heading into this weekend's NHL all-star break.

The Wild had lost its earlier 11 road video games, two in shootouts.
