Admittedly, camping can be fun... if you know how to go about it. Often, people are lured into this activity by tales of great camping trips or exciting adventures while on a supposedly sedate weekend off. If you feel like it is really time to invest good money on Coleman tent and gear, here are some camping beginner's mistakes you must avoid at all cost.

1. Not buying or acquiring the right equipments. You can almost always point out which group of campers are novices, simply from their lack of good camping equipments. Very often, you will see these campers carrying a tent and practically nothing more. True, you can pursue your camping endeavors armed with one Coleman tent if you really want to. 2. Going camping in your street clothes. How you ever seen a man in a suit trying to pitch up his Coleman tent, or a woman walking the hiking trail in heels? Although these may sound hilarious, you might be surprised at how often the said scenarios happen.

Think of it this way: you are going to stay someplace where people will not expect fancy getups or dress shoes. If you are going on a camping hike, then it is in all likelihood that you will be walking for long distances at any given time. If you are staying over at your campsite for the weekend or longer, you will be bathing either in an open water source (creek or stream) or a public bath facility delegated by the camping site administration. And if you are particularly shy, you will be probably be dressing inside you Coleman tent all throughout your stay.

Therefore, it is essential that you pack lightly, but try to fill your traveling gear with hardy clothes that will be able to withstand the demands of any camping activity you might engage in.

3. Bringing the wrong sort and wrong volume of food items. Many camping novices bring along snack items, hoping that there will be a food stall or restaurant nearby. Or, in some cases, they do bring food in coolers but forget to bring the necessary pans or utensils that the can use. However, the most common scenario (even with experienced campers) is never bringing enough food and water for the entire duration of their stay. If possible, make a meal plan and buy the necessary ingredient before you head on out the door. This way, you will not spend your time on your camp hungry, thirsty or restless.
