Coal Mining Deaths Could be Reduced in China After New Technology - By: aroberts10

After many years of fatalities in coal mining, China is set to address the situation as evidenced on March 31st and April 1st by the Pre-Mining De gasification Symposium. Here, they sat to discuss how the latest foreign technologies could help China's 2,000 coal mines and improve their safety along with the environment by reducing the global output of air pollution from China.

Organic matter has been converted to coal for over two centuries now, where methane is stored in pockets within a coal seam during the process of 'coalification.' Throughout this process, more than over 5000 cubic feet of methane is created, which is becoming a constant worry for the environment as this is being released into the atmosphere.

According to studies, over 90% of methane is released into the atmosphere through coal mining.

In China alone during this coal mining process, the volatile gases that are being produced are reportedly killing more than 15 miners every single day and astoundingly around 80% of the world’s coal mining deaths overall.

Wen Jiabo, the Prime Minister of China, has demanded this stop and plans be made to start to improve the conditions for workers in coal mines.

Over 436 million metric tons of carbon dioxide has been released from the coal mining industry. The main countries, Russia, China, Poland and the US account for over 77% of methane emissions produced from coal mining.

"The PACE-MDC joint venture group is currently preparing a business plan for the immediate development of this new strategy in order to address the demand, which arose from the attendees at this symposium." a statement made by Tunaye Sai, director of China Operations for Pacific Asia China Energy, during the presentation.

Exclusive rights have been granted to use the Dymaxion technology in China and this has been widely discussed by coal mining insiders.

This new technology will essentially help degasify coal mines.

The new technology drill will hopefully draw the methane gas from the coal seam and capture it at the surface, preventing it from being released into the air. People are calling this piece of technology, “revolutionary” and “radical”.

This Decimation drill is not only better for the environment but also is cost efficient. We can expect to see it introduced in many coal mining sites across the world over the next few years.
