Climbing Playground Equipment for Home Use - By: Genesis D.

Why would anyone buy climbing playground equipment for their home? While most people stick to swing sets and slides, some parents have gone the extra mile and purchased climbing equipment for their children, knowing that climbing is good for young muscles and bones.

In fact, climbing playground equipment could be the best investment you’ve ever made in your child’s health. There isn’t any need to go out and get a massive climbing wall . . . there are a number of smaller climbing structures that will work just fine for your child to scramble around on without being too expensive.

Of course, you’ll need plenty of space, as well. There are some fairly small play structures, but once your child reaches a certain size, he’ll need a larger place to play and climb. There’s no fun in climbing a 4 foot mini mountain when you’re twelve, after all.

You’ll also want to make sure you have a soft area around the climbing structure, preferably rubber mulch, which can drastically cushion falls taken by children. Six inches of mulch is the ideal, since it can cushion up to a twelve foot fall. Most kids won’t be that high, anyway, but it’s good to know that they are protected from any lower heights, as well.

Climbing promotes health. It allows kids to find out about balance and gravity by experimenting with it. They can learn the limitations of their own bodies and push them further, while building muscles and exercising. This is a great way to help cut the chances of childhood obesity and kids who are active in climbing at a young age will tend to be active as they get older, too.

When you invest in climbing playground equipment, you’re investing in your child’s future. It’s a good investment to make.
