Clarisonic Skin Brushes— A Quick Profile - By: Ruth Wester

From the same inventors who brought us the Sonicare Toothbrush that revolutionized dental care many years ago, Clarisonic is a trusted brand of skin care products that seeks to forever transform the way we care for our skin— just like Sonicare did for our teeth.

That’s precisely what the folks at Clarisonic have been doing with their revolutionary skin cleansing technology over the years. With the introduction of different varieties of Skin Cleansing Brushes, all equipped with Clarisonic’s patented Sonic Cleansing Technology, skin care enthusiasts everywhere have been abandoning all traditional skin cleansing methods and adopting, instead, the Clarisonic way for deeper cleansing and fairer skin.

However, as much as all the different types of Clarisonic brushes available on the market today employ the same unique Sonic Technology to remove dirt and oil from deep within the skin, each brush caters to specific needs of different users, and, because of this, it isn’t always so obvious to many potential buyers what brush would best suit their needs. By briefly profiling the different brush models, this article hopes to shed some light on the choices available for you.

The Clarisonic Pro: This model is used and sold exclusive by skin care professionals like aestheticians. Offering four possible speed options (low, normal, high and pro speeds), the Pro is the most versatile of the Calrisonic brushes. It can also be used in “Body Mode” on other parts of the body other than the face, such as for exfoliating elbows, knees and feet for a smoother feel and appearance.

Like all the other brushes, the Pro can be used by both men and women and is ideal for any skin type (depending on what kind of brush head is fitted on it). It comes in white pink and graphite-gray.

The Clarisonic PLUS: This one is pretty much a clone of the Pro, with minor differences. Instead of four, it gives three speed settings for use on the face (low, normal and high speeds); and it’s adopted for easier use by the ordinary user. Like the Pro, it also offers the Body Mode (only these two models give this option, in fact). It’s available in white, pink and a limited-edition “InStyle Red”.

The Clarisonic Classic: As the name suggests, the Classic is Clarisonic’s original Skin Cleansing Brush. This doesn’t make it superior in any way; it just means that the Classic was really the first of the Clarisonic brushes to employ the Sonic Technology and to achieve great popularity with everyday home users.

It offers two speed settings (low and normal). The Classic brushes come in
white, pink and graphite-gray.

The Clarisonic Mia and Mia 2: To meet the needs of the everyday home user for an even more convenient use of the brushes, Clarisonic responded by the introduction of the Mia, which became an instant hit with Clarisonic-brush-enthusiasts everywhere.

It is the smallest and lightest of the Clarisonic Brushes. It has only the normal speed and comes in many colours to choose from (yellow, pink, lavender, white, garnet, turquoise, blue, poppy red, sapphire blue, tangerine, etc.). Its compact design makes it the most ideal brush to travel with so that you can maintain your beauty regimes while on-the-go.

The Mia 2 is the newest member of the family. It’s essentially the same as the Mia, with few additional features like two speed settings (low and normal), instead of one. It‘s presently available in only white and pink.

Both the Mia and Mia 2 have the same compact, travel-friendly design. The Mia, however, is without a doubt the most popular of all the brushes and certainly the cheapest.
