Flamenco can be described as the classical dance of Spain. A vibrant dance form involves dancing to fast music accompanied by clapping and stamping. Flamenco is popular act in most clubs and there are separate venues that perform this art and even teach a piece of it to ardent fans. Historically this dance was dance of the gypsies who danced their feelings out to express their opposition to the catholic conversion in Spain. Flamenco consists of the dancer and the music players. There are three elements to it: the dance or baile, song or cante and music or toque. The best choice to watch flamenco would be to choose a restaurant that offers great food along with the performance.
There are a few etiquettes to be observed during such performances. Prior to recording the show, ask if it is permissible to make a video of the dance. Do not talk or make any comment while the dancers are performing as it is considered disrespectful. Appreciating at the right moment is however very much encouraged. When in doubt, follow suit of the locals.
