City Breaks to Paris - By: Asifkhan

When you have decided to take a city breaks to Paris, there are several things that you should do. The first thing that you want to remember is that your city break should be full of plans in order to fit in everything that you would like to do, but also that you should try to do a little bit of everything.

The Eurostar now departs from King's Cross St Pancras and arrives at Paris Gare du Nord in the centre of the city. For most incoming international flights, Charles De Gaulle (located 25km to the north of the city) is the main airport in Paris. Shuttle transfers, taxis, train or bus are your main options for getting to the city centre once you've arrived, with all of them taking approximately 60 minutes. If you arrive at Orly or Beauvais, the other two Paris airports, shuttles and taxis will take about 30 and 90 minutes respectively.

If you are on a weekend break, you are likely to want as little hassle and as much leisure as possible during your trip to Paris; an airport shuttle is the most convenient way of getting from the airport to your hotel in Paris, and shuttle services, unlike the bus or train, will drop you off directly at your hotel.

Although you will find countless high-end fashion stores dotted through the city, the Marais is perhaps the most famed for its high couture offerings. Many young designers have shops in the area and have really made it their own.

Laeticia Ivanez's Les Prairies de Paris is a particularly exciting boutique to visit, featuring not only glamorous clothes but also events such as gigs and art shows.

This city has a huge variety of places to visit, many of these have not even mentioned here; but these should certainly not to be missed because many offer regular guided tours, some at little or no charge at all. A Paris Short stay vacation should only ever be considered a sample of what the city can offer; the likes of medieval churches, buildings and castles, which it has in abundance, will have to wait until another time.
