Chris Sharma the Most Well Known Rock Climber - By: jordanrocksmith3

The popular rock climbing star does not like to talk about his own accomplishments as a climber but is always willing to talk about his favorite sport, rock climbing. He feels that talking about his accomplishments would only give me an inflated sense of self.

A native of Santa Cruz, California, Sharma left high school right after his first year to go on and become an award winning climber. When he was fourteen years of age he won the Bouldering Championship an followed this a year later with a difficult climb in the American rating system. When he moved to Bishop, California he climbed Mammut. He won an award in the X games in 1999 followed by the Mammut championships in 2007 and 2008.
The climbs made by Chris Sharma were not the easiest. In some of his climbs he had to make several unsuccessful climbs before he made a successful climb.
As an individual, Chris Sharma would prefer to have a well balanced life which he is not allowed because of his rock climbing accomplishments. His thoughts have often gone to perhaps quitting rock climbing to get that well balanced life, but rock climbing continues to call him.

Every sport has a name that becomes synonymous with the sport and as a result that name becomes popular. In the sport of rock climbing that name is Chris Sharma. His popularity is in bouldering a form of rock climbing that is usually done at twenty three feet and the climber does not usually wear any protective gear. Some climbers will use a padded mat in the event they should fall. To insure that someone is there when an emergency arises, bouldering is done with a partner.

The popularity of Chris Sharma will continue for as long as he is willing to continue climbing.
