Choosing a Good Registry Cleaner - By: Dave Fraser

Experiencing a Slow Boot up for your PC? Have windows registry errors that need some repair? Not a trouble there are numerous software titles available to fix just those issues. The problem is actually more to do with choosing which one of these programs will do the best job for you. Locating a good registry cleaner in the mass of middle of the road programs can take some time, and you want to be sure you get the right program the first time. Hence this article, I'm going to go over what you need to know and look for before you spend a dime on registry repair.

Find a Product with a Free Trial

All good registry cleaners likely have a free trial option. Most times this free trial consists of a free scan of your registry system. This does two things, one it helps you determine if indeed you have registry related troubles, and it helps the company because if their program does what they promise it will then you're more likely to buy it. Look for a product that offers a free trial that you can test before you have to buy anything.

Ensure it has a Backup Feature

Most review sites and articles don't often discuss how important this fact is, but always get a registry repair program that offers a backup utility. Backing up your current registry troubles ensures that you have a way to undo any changes that the software makes but you're not happy with. Using a program without a backup feature, or not knowing how to create the backup yourself in windows is a dangerous situation waiting to happen.

Manual and Automatic Repair Options

Good registry cleaners offer the ability for you to have the program repair all the items it finds in the scan on it's own, or you can manually go through each item found and decide if you want it repaired, deleted, or left alone. This gives people are more of an intermediate level the ability to customize how the software repairs your registry. This isn't a must, but if you enjoy tweaking and learning things when it comes to software I'd look for this feature.

Ensure you Have a Guarantee

This is a very big point to consider before you spend any money on a registry cleaner. Most software products, especially those that have big claims of speeding up the performance of your PC have some sort of guarantee. Look for a good registry cleaner that has a money back guarantee of at least 30 days. This ensures that if you're not happy with the performance you can always request your money back.

Read Reviews before you decide

Before you rush out now to buy the first program you can find that meets all of these requirements I suggest you take a moment to read some registry cleaner review sites. These sites review registry cleaners individually and often compare them to each other. Making them a useful resource for you during your research.
