Every kitchen should have a good quality clock hanging from the wall. It is not there just to tell the current time, but also provides the cook of the house the seconds, minutes and hours when timing their cooking. They can also be used for ornamental purposes to help brighten up the kitchen in either a fun or formal manner.

There are many styles and materials for you to choose from when deciding on a kitchen clock. If you have a clean minimalist look to the kitchen, you may want to go for a digital style clock with the casing color to match the color of the cupboards. For larger kitchens that have a large blank wall available, you may want to make a statement by having a large wall clock. Perhaps even a clock that designed in an art deco style. If your kitchen consists of mainly wooden cabinets and surfaces that are found in cottage style kitchens, you may want to buy a kitchen clock made from wood to match. There are many varieties of wood to choose from such as teak, pine and oak to name only a few.

Finally you could go for a stainless steel clock as many kitchens around the country have stainless steel appliances such as the oven, stove, kettle and toaster. This is probably one of the cheapest clocks to buy that still provides a very modern look and feel. You can find clocks cheaper in plastic but they tend to stain over time and they also look quite cheap.

If you are looking for a vintage or retro look to the kitchen, you may want to look out for a flip clock which originates from the 1950’s to 1970’s era. In recent years they have made a comeback and they can be combined with a modern kitchen décor without looking out of place.

Clocks don’t have to be formal, they can be fun too. There are many bright colored clocks to choose from and can be bought in fun styles such as cartoon characters or everyday objects such as cars, motorbikes, kitchen appliances.
