By going all out on the chocolate, you will make your wife a very happy woman. As with the flowers, include a special card to give it a bit more personality and show that you took some initiative for her gift.

Obviously, choosing between the two of these options is really not that hard and it all comes down to what you want to buy her and what she will like the most. The main thing to remember is that you did not forget to get her something, which to her would hurt a great deal. If you buy her a gift, then you have already made a great impression and you can look forward to a wonderfully romantic Valentine's Day night.

One last option, if you cannot decide what to get her, is to buy her both. Give her a bouquet of roses with some flowers, and include a personalized message with it. You can't lose if you take that scenario.
