Every child is born with the natural enthusiasm to look, touch, and feel. This is how a child learns, and replacing this enthusiasm with the TV just because it pacifies the child is the wrong approach and a waist of the child`s mind. The TV can have a somewhat hypnotic effect on children and a child can become dependent on watching it. Teach a child a hobby and let the child use his or hers ability to look, touch, and feel as tools so the mind will learn to be creative.

Most often, kids don't enjoy reading because they're not interested in the books put before them. Play is very important in child’s life and grownups too. Play is the manifestation of the natural creative impulses that drive our imaginations, both children and adults – uninhibited by society in terms of what is practical and what is possible. To me my best play is when I end up playing unexpectedly, the same thing holds true for a child and they all wind up being learning experiences. Through play children learn about shapes, colors, cause and effect, and themselves. Besides cognitive thinking, play helps the child learn social and psychomotor skills. It is a way of communicating joy, fear , sorrow, and Anxiety.

Teach goal-setting - Children learn to set goals and make their own decisions when they get absorbed in hobbies. Hobbies not only mature kids, but also can lead to lifetime career choices. Children who learn the importance of setting goals in life will have a huge advantage over their peers in all aspects of life - both throughout their schooldays and later on when they leave school in their careers and other endeavors.
