From now till 6 Feb, they're offering delicacies with their Special Treasure Pot Set, ideal for up to five people. Savour dishes such as braised shark's fin with crabmeat, deluxe treasure pot, deep-fried soon hock with superior soy sauce, and cream of high mountain sweet potato with yam, crystal sago and glutinous rice dumplings. Toss up a year of good fortune with their signature yu sheng which features salmon, ikan parang, Hamachi and crispy fish skin.
Indulge in some of Kagoshima's best produce with a special showcase at Sky on 57 with Chef Justin Quek from now till Feb 17. As part of the Kagoshima Fair, they'll also be presenting special menus for Chinese New Year from now till Feb 1.
During the Fair, several of Kagoshima's signature produce will be highlighted, including the Kagoshima kuroge wagyu beef and Berkshire kurobuta pork. The prefecture is well known for producing the largest number of black wagyu beef cattle and kurobuta pigs in Japan. Other produce to look forward to during the Fair includes Yellowtail, Sakurajima daikon radish, an-nou potato - a sweet potato variant, and dekopon citrus, also known as shiranuhi.
Quek's menu is done with a light hand, allowing the Kagoshima produce to really shine through. The spring salad with Kagoshima vegetables is light and full of fresh flavours, as is the organic Kagoshima pumpkin veloute with crabmeat custard. One not to miss is the Kagoshima wagyu, grilled to perfection and mixed with Kagoshima vegetables.
The special Lunar New Year luncheon set ($138++) also includes a prosperity salad, the organic pumpkin celoute, green pea and bacon risotto with sautéed Kagoshima kurobuta confit and natural meat jus, the Kagoshima wok fried wagyu beef cubs with fava beans and leeks in Asian pepper sauce and ‘deko-pan' mandarin orange, marinaged with Nivan, orange and saffron ice cream.
