Canadian Prescription Drugs - Working Towards Creating a Workplace without Mental Health Issues - By: tanya crane

Health issues at the workplace does not always relate to physical injuries caused by not wearing protective gear but mental health problems that cannot be solved by just taking in Canadian prescription drugs. Many issues are related to problems encountered on a daily basis. It could begin at home, aggravate at the workplace, and finally create stress and disharmony at both locations.

The Canadian Press recently reported a survey in June 2011 that clearly suggested there was a strong disagreement in views held by executives and their employers regarding how mental health problems are taken care of at the workplace. It can affect anyone regardless of age or class. Problems could have personal, financial, or social consequences for employers, employees, and everyone associated with the individual.

Humans have learned to live in society over time. A harmonious and productive environment will help individuals grow and flourish in skill and overall health. They will be able to contribute both individually and collectively towards increasing productivity and fulfilling social obligations. Mental health problems can only be resolved when both employers and employees are able to understand their role in helping each other.

For example, educating people on the use of drugs to reduce stress at the workplace is a vital issue that needs to be addressed on an urgent basis. People buy ibuprofen, a common over-the-counter drug to manage pain, but they need to be aware that it can reduce the effectiveness of anti-depressant medications.

It was found that nearly 80% of the employers felt their companies succeeded in creating a productive work environment free of tension and discord, while only 30% of the employees agreed, as per the Conference Board of Canada survey conducted on over 1,000 employees, half of whom were managers. A few even found them isolated and could not get out of the embarrassment of facing people after pulling through a mental disease.

A system has to be put in place that promotes mental health where people feel loved and are capable of loving others. The Mental Health Commission of Canada holds the view that publicly speaking about problems related to mental health is the way to go in solving problems.

Issues arising at the workplace have to be identified in order to find a permanent solution for mental illnesses. The structure developed should be able to resolve mental health problems with the same amount of accuracy and speed with which physical ailments are looked after at present. In today's world of tension and worry, every individual at the workplace is susceptible to developing symptoms of mental illness.

It must be said that people who are productive at work and are involved in leisure and social activities are less likely to develop mental stress. They need the support of the employers and fellow employee to be productive and excel at the workplace.

Mental health issues can be very costly both to an employer and employee. There are many hidden costs involved starting from absenteeism to creating and participating in unwanted activity that essentially reduce productivity. Employers will find it very costly in terms of hiring professionals to retrain employees. Moreover, Canadian pharmacy drugs cannot be used in isolation to solve such complex problems.
