Many Nursing Programs Available in California

There are three different degree programs for nurses. Associate, bachelor, and master degree programs are all available to nurses. The BRN authorizes the programs that each college must have for accreditation. You will take courses in biology, math, English, psychology, and general educational requirements. You will need to obtain an average of c or higher to complete this program.

If you want to get started right away the associate degree program is best. You can immediately be eligible to work after obtaining your degree and passing the LVN (licensed vocation nursing) exam. You can complete this course in two years. California Registered Nursing programs involve a bachelor's degree, which will take you at least four years if you don't have an associate degree. If you already do hold the basic degree you will only need an additional thirty hours of coursework. This is California's LVN to RN program.

Respiratory Therapy is Another Great Choice in the Medical Field

A respiratory care practitioner should enjoy working with people. You will come in contact with people that have challenges breathing. You will help them to expand their lung capacity.

There are two degree programs that you can obtain. These are an associate and bachelor degrees. Some schools allow you to obtain the associates degree in as few as 22 months. Should you decide that you want to get more training you will take the additional coursework necessary for the bachelor's degree. You should be able to be a respiratory care practitioner after graduation from a California Respiratory Therapy program and after passing the CRT (certified respiratory therapy) exam. This exam is certified by the Board of Respiratory Care Certified Respiratory Therapy.
