It's likely that you concentrate your spending in areas of your home that get the most visitors. We want our homes to be welcoming to others and there is nothing wrong with that. What this means is that we tend to spend a little less on the rooms people don't see much of, such as our bedroom. If you have in the past spent a great deal of money on your bedroom furniture then it will be quality and it will be lasting. If you have invested in some solid wood wardrobes or bed, then you are unlikely to want to change them. Bedside tables and cabinets are relatively inexpensive, so that is something you may want to look at. Even if you have built in wardrobes, it's likely you need other storage. Check out the chests of drawers and small wardrobes that can be added to match your other bedroom furniture. You can really express yourself with the colours, textures and decor in your bedroom and that certainly won’t break the bank.

It may be that you now need to use your bedroom as office space; many of us need somewhere to sit and use our computer or laptop. There are some gorgeous pieces of office furniture that would be equally at home added to your bedroom furniture. If you do need to add office furniture to your bedroom, check out the people you purchased your bedroom furniture from. They are likely to have items to match perfectly what you already have. Regardless of whether you want to update your bedroom through necessity or just for pure indulgence, it needn’t cost an arm and a leg.

If you merely want to change the look of the room by updating the decor, it is cost effective and easy. What about adding maybe a dressing table mirror or wall mirror to give an updated look without the huge price tag of replacing all of the bedroom furniture? Even the addition of a screen to shield part of your room could totally change the look of the room and give you a dressing area maybe. If you don't have a lot of money to spend on changing your room, then think about minor additions to your bedroom furniture that can make the difference.
