Bring More Creativity in Life and Make Your Life Different and Active - By: Stacy Parker

Mostly, teachers emphasize the skill of analysis more at school. We can learn skills like understand claims, follow or create a logical argument, figure out the answer to a certain question, eliminate the incorrect paths and focus on the correct one at school. These skills are in among analytical thinking. But in our daily life, we need more skills than that. The another kind of thinking, which focuses on exploring ideas, generating possibilities, looking for many right answers rather than just one, is creative thinking. Both of these two kinds of thinking are important, but the latter one are usually ignored until after college.

Some people might think analytical thinking should be a little bit dull and less flexible. But it is crucial in accurately analyzing and executing a variety of tasks, making decisions, evaluating data, and managing the progress of standard operating procedures, etc. The process can be fussy and boring, but it is pretty important in solving problems.

When dealing with an issue or solving a problem, you need to use both kinds of thinking. The process of thinking will alternate between them. At first, you have to analyze the problem, to find the possible solutions. Then we must choose the implement the best solution. Finally, we must evaluate the effectiveness of the solution.

Then what is creativity and creative thinking? Actually creativity is the ability to imagine or invent something new. You are willingly to accept changes and something new, embrace new ideas and possibilities, have a flexibility of outlook, and enjoy the good but still keeping finding ways and generating new ideas to improving it. Creative thinking is to think differently, unconventionally or from a new perspective with an open mind, and believe that there is always room for improvement.

As to me, I usually surprise by the creative that ordinary people make. I appreciate the paintings on the buildings wall and astonishing by the 3D street painting. I enjoy those advertisements that contain very creative ideas. I love traveling especially when I find some unique local snacks, or I am inspired by something that I've never seen.

We can apply those creative ideas in our daily life. For example, when you are doing the same work day after day, or when you find you just keep regular hours all year round, have you ever thought that this kind of life should be a little bit monotonous and dull? Have you ever thought about changing something and bring more creative ideas into your life?

When I'm back from my vacations, I have to go back to such life routine and I really don't like this lifestyle. I think I need a work because I need to ensure I'm still in the crowd. So I try to bring something new into my life so as to have more energy and more fun at life. For example, I don't just go back home and stay alone at home without doing anything. I have my everyday doing different things, reading at least 2 books a week, doing some drawing on Tuesday, wee a movie on Wednesday, going to gym on Thursday, etc. I also start learning a new language. Then I can consider reading some books written in that language, movies and communicate with people in that country directly. While you are travelling to another country, knowing the language is more likely to bring you and the local residents. That would be totally different than getting an interpreter and a guide. A good idea, isn't it?
