Breaking News Regarding Reindeer Dust - By: S.Roberts

Over the past 5 years studies have been carried out to uncover the best way of drawing Santa Claus's attention to your house on Christmas Eve.

It was thought for many years that bright elaborate lighting displays on the out side of the house was the most effective way of asking Santa to at your house to deliver presents down the chimney pot. However, scientists believe that the bright Christmas fairy lights are lost in the street light glow and actually are not very visible when flying overhead.

In more resent years the wooden or plastic 'Stop Here Santa' signs have become popular. This drive was thought to have been a response to the failure of the outside lighting displays. However you can never be sure if Santa did actually miss your house that particular year or if you didn't happen to be on the nice list for some reason that Christmas.

The 'Stop Here Santa' signs do look very attractive when they are pushed into the lawn or flowerbeds, but they are very limited in attracting Santa's attentions because he can't read the sign from the air or from the rooftops. Santa rarely comes down lower than the rooftops, there is little need when the Chimney is his access point. However on particularly small houses or houses with thatched roofs Santa will park the sleigh and reindeer on the ground because there is just not enough room, and the thatch is very slippery under reindeer hoof and there have been incidents when they have all slid off.

After much investigation an announcement has been made today that Reindeer dust is the most effective way off alerting Santa and his reindeer that they should visit your house. Despite its name, you may think that Reindeer dust is a magical compound such as Fairy Dust, however reindeer dust if just a few simple ingredients that you can mix together at home. Reindeer dust is simply just porridge oats and silver glitter.

It might seem hard to believe that porridge oats and silver glitter could achieve anything really let alone notify Santa that you would like him to call upon your house. This is how scientists believes the dust works, it have a two fold effect. When it is sprinkled on the lawn, garden area or in the street in front of your house, the silver glitter reflects the light of the moon and streetlights up to Santa so that he can see the dust twinkling. Reindeer have a very good sense of smell; after all they are adapted to find food under many inches of snow. When they are flying over the houses they can smell the porridge oats in the reindeer dust that has been left out for them, and they swoop down to eat the oats. Flying requires a lot of energy so they are always glad of snack on route.

A few notes to remember when sprinkling your reindeer dust on Christmas Eve. Make sure that the dust is sprinkled close to your own house or dwelling, you don't want Santa thinking that the reindeer dust was sprinkled by your neighbour. Also only set out the dust after the sun has gone down, otherwise the hungry birds will feast on the oats and the reindeer will not be able to smell the oats aroma. Only last point is to remember to be good all year if you possible can. Doing good deeds every day can help to cancel out any naughtiness that Santa might have heard about. Reindeer dust will not help a naught child to receive Christmas presents, so make sure that you are always on Santa's Nice List.
