A memory game is very fun for kids. It requires an adult to bring around a tray full of small items, which the kids study for about a minute. They try to remember as many things as possible. After a minute is up, the adult takes the tray away and the kids write down all of the objects that they can remember. Whoever remembers the most wins the prize.

For adults, board games can make birthday parties more fun and exciting. They can add more of a social element to the party, and will increase the energy level. Great social party games include Taboo, Trivial Pursuit, Pictionary, and Catchphrase.

Charades can be fun for smaller adult birthday parties. While some people think that charades is boring, if everyone is close friends then charades can give the party a lot of energy.
