Biomass Gasifier the Revolutionary Way to a Sustainable Environment - By: Mike Nicholson

As the level of pollution rising day by day, it is extremely important both for nations and their citizens to switch to nature-friendly modes of carrying thing out. Doing by this way ensures a healthier and cleaner environment for us. We can only do so by incorporating highly advance industrial systems that make an effective use of renewable energy resources. This is the reason why large manufacturing organizations have started using eco-friendly manufacturing procedures to make lesser harm to our green environment.

In today’s competitive environment, every industrial sector is adopting every possible way to swell up its production and thus revenue generation. In order to achieve this, these companies often neglect the value of our environment which is the ultimate source of everything. Recently companies have started using biomass gasifiers, which are sometimes known as BioMax units, meant for generating electricity and thermal energy from wooden waste including wood chips from hard and soft wood, sawdust pellets, coconut shells or corncobs.

A biomass gasifier usually used to burn woody fuels with about one-third of the oxygen necessary for combustion to produce a mixture of carbon dioxide and hydrogen, known as Syngas. Do you know that biomass energy accounts for about 11% of the global energy supply, and it is expected that more than 2 billion people all across the globe depend in biomass energy for their energy needs.

According to a recent research, it has been found that wood gasification systems are an excellent power generation technology for reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. Few years ago wood gas was considered as cheaper by all means, but charcoal gasifiers were popular as they were easier to handle. There are different types of gasifiers that produce gas from wood and then burn the gas, resulting into ash and charcoal.

Scientists have discovered that biomass gasifiers are able to deliver performance by meeting energy requirements in different situations. Wood gas can be used to run cars with general internal combustion engines when a wood gasifier is used. . This concept was very popular during World War II in European countries because soldiers in the war region did not always have access to oil.

Syngas is generally a combination of hydrogen and carbon monoxide and it can be feasibly converted into fuels such as hydrogen, natural gas or ethanol. Syngas is inserted into a cooling system which then generates steam. This gas can be used as a fuel to product electricity and steam or as a chemical building block for the petrochemical and refining industries. The gasification system converts feedstock such as coal, crude oil, petroleum-based materials or gases into fuels and products for buying. When mixed with air, syngas can be used in gasoline or diesel engines with few alternations to the engine.
