Banner stands have long been recognized as a great way to highlight your trade show stands and make them shine. They're an inexpensive addition to your exhibition presence, although their polished appearance makes them seem worth quite a bit more than their price tag. Over the past few years, they have become a common staple in many displays, helping to promote new products, adding new life to old units, and helping attract attention from passersby. It is virtually impossible to use banner stands and not get results, but some uses are a bit more creative than others. Using them in new, exciting ways will help draw attention to your exhibit, increasing foot traffic and overall lead generation.

Elevating Banner Stands

One of the best ways to shake up these classic exhibit elements is by elevating them to unexpected heights. Instead of resting the bottom of the unit on the ground, put it on top of a table, or perhaps on a podium unit in the center of your display. Banners are naturally eye-catching, and even more so when they are raised a bit higher. This method also gives you an opportunity to save even more: you don't have to pay for a very tall unit! Something about four or five foot high is ideal for this kind of positioning. Any taller, and you're likely to have problems seeing the top of it from ground level.

Double-Sided Units

This new innovation doubles the available display area while also increasing the visual appeal. These units will be slightly more expensive than their single-sided counterparts, but with the right booth it can be well worth the price. A double-sided display is best used when you've got the room to take full advantage of it. That could mean any number of things, from putting it atop a podium unit for easy reading to giving it a spot in the booth where it can be viewed from all sides. Wherever you choose to put it, be aware of its final placement when you are doing the initial design. Remember that people will not typically look below waist level for any length of time, so they may not read all the way to the bottom of a banner sitting on the floor.

One of the most novel ways to use a banner is to actually let it stand alone as a booth. There are many ways to do this and have it present well, ranging from combining a number of different units together for one cohesive impression to bringing a single unit and accenting with smaller displays. The ideal choice for you will depend on what you want to communicate, how many products you're presenting, and how small your budget is. In general, tight budgets and multiple products mean you want multiple smaller banners, whereas a bigger budget or a single product would lean towards a single unit.

Remember, these are all ideas, and none of the proposed suggestions here are rules of design. If you feel that a particular configuration for your trade show stands will work, you're probably right. Just be sure that you're leaving adequate space for promotion, and that your text is readable and passage through your trade show stands is easy for visitors.
