Best coffee grinder must have this! - By: Ebenezer

The question would be what the best coffee grinder is, and my reply is to look within the burr genre of grinders. A good grinder needs to be in this category.

Basically, there are two types of machine that consumers use to grind their coffee beans, one are the blade type and the other is what is known as the burr. The former being the cheaper version and the price difference can be as much as 100%.

Yes, a burr can be twice the price of a blade, and for consumers that are starting to do their own grinding, the latter is usually their choice appliance. For beginners, they are pretty price sensitive, but doing so would disappoint and smash any expectations one have about better fresher coffee!

Anyway, if you are thinking that I am going to ask you to choose from this category, because of their pricing, it is quite the opposite. Usually, when you read coffee maker ratings, most review would point out the cheaper option and ask you to choose it.

But in this case, I am going to ask you to choose the more expensive option -the burr grinder. Your coffee ground and how it is being done affects the entire brew, so not matter what best coffee makers you are going to use; if your grind is inconsistent, the brew is ruined.

And using blade to grind would not only give you coarse ground, it would also give you uneven and inconsistent ground. This meant that when you brew using these grounds, you either a coffee that is very concentrated or a coffee that is very dilute.

This is known as over extraction in the case of a concentrated coffee which is very bitter. And dilute is of course under extracted and it is tasteless. The blade only gives you ground coffee and nothing else. Basically, you cannot even consider it to be a full fledged coffee grinder -this is the same type of grinder used to grind your spices!

So, this is the type of grinder that you have to avoid. It is pointless to get a appliance at a very low price but it does not produce even an average beverage right? If you are looking for a machine that can better your coffee experience, skip this blade category.

No matter which brand you buy within the burr category, it cannot be that bad. Some might be better than others, but so long as it is within this category, you can be assured of a good cup of coffee.

There you have it folks, a point you can consider when you are looking for your coffee grinder the next time round. I am using "can consider", but seriously why would you even want to look at blade grinders that would ruin your brew?
