Best Bachelor Party Ideas for New Orleans - By: Leonardo Suarez

Photographers love it and of course they need it, at least quite often. It seems that each time I am around innovative photographers, or interested doctors, lawyers or businessmen for that matter, there is always that a person inevitable question: what do you shoot with? So, what does an individual shoot with? What lenses do i use? Do I only shoot available light, or do i use flash? The solution: yes.

Just kidding. So for those that are curious, I will fail my typical setup for a wedding, and why As i own each piece. There is quite a bit of gear, but don't get worried, we will get through this, even if it takes several blog posting. I get spent years building my photography equipment, and will keep adding to it for any rest of my lifetime (just don't tell my niece that!), and you may too! So let's arrive at it.

First off are the camera body shapes. I shoot all digital SLRs, which stands with regard to single-lens reflex. Essentially, these are typically the cameras that take interchangeable lenses, which, amongst other reasons, makes them vastly superior to point and shoots. Note* I do love my Canon G9, great when I want to travel light. I shoot all Canon equipment, and love my gear. This was a technique taught to me by the great photojournalism professor, and always works the best.

Basic Edits

Every wedding photographer goes through each wedding to decide on a basic set of images for any client, and uses an editing program on their computer to narrow straight down selects. I personally use Camerabit's Photo Mechanic to accomplish this, as it is an exceptionally speedy program, but Aperture and Lightroom and even Adobe Bridge can are well. In our encounter, this basic edit can run from around 400 to 800 graphics, depending on the size and length of the wedding.

If it is one of your preferred, you can usually edit down to a solid 30-40 images that give a flow of your wedding day. This would be perfect if you're trying to show off a total wedding, but for portfolio purposes, you want to attempt to narrow down to your better. This means maybe several to ten images at the most from a wedding. You should do this for each individual wedding before gathering all the images together.

After getting gathered your super selects, it is time to make contact sheets. I believe Photoshop CS4 may still possess a contact sheet maker someplace, but it is very simple to do in Connection. Place your images within a folder, and then available this folder in Bridge. From there click the tab 'Output' on the top menu right of the window, and you will have the choice to create a PDF or web gallery. Select the number of images you would enjoy on each page, after that make PDF's and create them out.

Now, I can see you starting to shake as you realize this won't be done on a computer, but don't worry, it will be ok. You will be amazed at the amount better you see images when just about all laid out in top of you. Once almost everything is printed, cut them out, and get good to go.
