Bathrooms are definitely one of the hardest rooms in the house to light properly. If you want to provide a luxurious "spa" feeling in your bathroom then having lights on dimmer switches is the best idea. This means you can adjust the lighting to the exact level you want it every time. If you are hurriedly getting showered and dressed in the morning then you will want as much light as possible. If however you want to have a relaxing bath after a hard day at work then you are going to want some soft lighting. Having an additional reading light over the bath is a good idea so you can read a book even when the rest of the light is atmospheric.

Because of the specialist nature of bathroom lighting it is extremely important that you find an electrician to help with the wiring. Although some people like to try doing these jobs themselves it can often end up costing more in the long run if something goes wrong. Fiddling with electrics when you don't know exactly what you are doing can be very dangerous so make sure plenty of care is taken.
