It is hardly a surprise that Georgia has of late, emerged as a fisherman’s paradise. With its 31 reservoirs and 18 rivers, in addition to the various, lakes and creeks, ponds and hideaways, which offer fishing enthusiasts, young, amateurs and professionals a wide variety catch along with world class amenities. While the fishing fever has always been a high in Georgia, the recent passion for bass fishing has been momentous.

Bass fishing includes species like black, spotted, largemouth and smallmouth. Of these largemouths are the most prized catch.
Spring and fall are the bass fishing seasons in Florida. Large mouths, 15 inches long and close to a pound in weight, are the most common specie of bass in Georgia. These are real giants and are by themselves a trophy for anyone who catches them. In Central Georgia, Lake Jackson has largest and heaviest bass of this specie.

To lure bass into your line, it is recommended that fishermen work their line in the shallow or weedy waters or in deep clear water, depending on the type of the target catch. Anything from crankbait, jig, plastic or sinker worms, Carolina-rig, poppies and the like, can work as bait for bass. Although live baits like crickets, minnows, worms, grasshoppers, etc. can also be used, it is recommended to use plastic lures.

Tourists and out station fishermen, particularly fond of bass fishing have become loyal to Georgia. Not only does Georgia offer them a memorable bass fishing experience but also enables them to get a catch that they can talk about for a long time.
