Financial analyst is the most in-demand profession in financial services industry. This profession considered to be a niche in the market, because its leads towards different opportunities and one can work in all levels; junior and senior. Although market is very competitive and it’s very hard to find place as an analyst, but there are certain preparations one can make, to break into the market and prove him/her self. Before enter into this profession always ask yourself few questions; why you want this career, what are your objectives and vision, why you think this is right career for you, either you are suitable for this job or not? When you justify all of your questions and think you are the right person; then prepare yourself for this career.
The job of the financial analyst is to do financial analysis of the businesses or companies; by evaluating microeconomic and macroeconomic conditions to give recommendations on different stocks. Analysts on the basis of financial analysis some time suggests their clients certain course of actions on companies current and predicted situations, such as; buy, sell and hold the stocks.
If you are still studying or undergraduate student and you pursuing career in this field, the best is to take courses in; business, finance, maths, economics, accounting and taxation. Mostly juniors hired are of these subjects, while MBA’s hired as a senior analyst. Analyst need to be vigilant and up to date about economic conditions and also need to gather information about particular sector of the industry on which you working and especially those companies whom you are dealing with. Junior analyst can gather this information from different writing journals, such as; Wall Street journal, the economist, and the financial times.
Most important need of analyst is to develop expertise in; evaluating spreadsheets, manage and filter database, make presentations, and up to date with different related software applications. If one get success in these areas, than chances of success are possible and one can excel in this field.
