Banner Stands Make Marketing Easy - By: Chris Robertson

Marketing means different things to different people, but at its most basic, marketing is about making a connection between products or services and potential consumers of those products or services. Marketing takes a variety of forms; a good marketing plan will include diverse approaches to reaching consumers.

We're surrounded by marketing: television, radio, magazine, and Internet ads; billboards; promotional brochures, flyers, and leaflets; ads on buses, trains, and taxis. Banner stands are among the most popular and effective methods of getting your message across to your audience. As the name suggests, banner stands are devices that hold a banner or poster in position. Banner stands make it easy to get maximum attention through large format advertising.

Retractable banner stands are an inexpensive way to create a professional presentation at trade shows, press conferences, retail settings, and special events. Convenient and easy to set up, retractable or roll up banner stands have a mechanism that retracts the banner inside the base for storage-an excellent way to protect the banner when it's not in use. One person can set up a retractable banner stand in less than one minute (except for the very wide models that require two support poles). All you have to do is pull on the banner like you pull down a window shade, then attach the head rail to the top of the support pole. To take it down, just lower the banner back to the base, then put the pole and base into the case.

Portable, or non-retractable banner stands, include telescopic banner stands, X banner stands, and L banner stands. The user manually attaches and removes the banner from the stand. Retail banner stands are a type of portable banner stand that has a heavier base to withstand retail traffic. Outdoor banner stands are portable stands that are weighted-often with sand or water-- to withstand the wind.

Motorized banner stands are real attention getters. They have a motor that scrolls the banner in a continuous loop.

Banner stands come in widths from 19 inches to 72 inches. Models vary in height from tabletop size to 10 feet tall. Some have extension poles or telescoping legs. Banner stands can be used singly or in multiples; three or four retractable banner stands grouped together make an economical and professional trade show display. The availability of replacement banners and quick-change banner rails make banner stands even more versatile. Their lightweight, custom carrying cases, and easy set up make banner stands highly transportable.

The banners themselves come in a variety of materials including opaque polyester, blockout fabric, and environmentally friendly options. The merchants who sell the banner stands typically print the banners as well. Most can print from uploaded files. Some even have the capability to create the banner designs.

Advertising does not have to be expensive. Banner stands make it possible to have a high quality marketing display at a very reasonable cost.
