Background Search Is Very Essential But Very Difficult In Online Dating - By: Francis K Githinji

Online dating has its own risks and dangers.Anger, betrayal, shock, disgust, embarrassment does sound familiar? A question I pose to you lovebirds in engagement or marriage. Why wait to be shocked and speechless when that good for nothing cheat you see in the future or are already living with double cross you with a much younger friend of yours, right in your own house? How about your in-laws to be, who perhaps will make your life a living hell? Have you also searched your Mr. or Mrs. Right, if they have a bad temper, drug abusers or what on earth it may well be?

I constantly say that if you come across a friend through online dating and are interested always ask questions, not from them- they will always say what you want to hear, but from people out there. There will all the time be someone who knows someone, who knows a thing or two about the person you are interested in. And that knowledge could put aside a lot of heartache later when you are already settled, not to mention the undeserved embarrassment.

Unfortunately, many of us have this fixation about keeping a relationship and dating a secret ‘until we are ready to face the world together’ we always notify ourselves that before facing the world, we must become comfortable with ourselves first ‘ a perfect couple’ many call it.

On the other hand, background research has never been that easy even with face to face relationships. Worse still doing the research for an online dating friend is the hardest of all. Most of online dating relationships are based on probability and possibility. If one is on this kind of an arrangement, all he hopes for is things to turn out right although it can be a terrible nightmare. One has to rely on the words exchanged through emails or chatting, all the way reassuring them that the guy on the other side of screen is going through the same.

What is even more difficult is the fact that one doesn’t know anybody who could ease the state of anxiety by telling on their online dating friends. We only have to feign the faith and trust on someone who is a total stranger. Your online friend could be a terrorist, a wanted criminal, a married spouse or even a ‘perfect husband or wife’ of which you can’t tell because you are not an angel.

Even when you meet them face to face, it’s highly possible that you will not learn much on their background. You must at least make a trip in their home country, possibly pay for your stay on that new city and your return ticket just incase you are stuck. At this time, if he or she is a genuine friend, then they will introduce you to their family who might not accept you that fast. While there, try as much as possible to make new friends who might lead you to the truth you might be looking for. Conversely if he or she wasn’t serious or they had their own vested interest in you, you might find yourself in a lousy situation probably trapped in a strange country, doing prohibited trade and the next thing you know, you are being convicted of a crime. Go on online dating, but you should be wary of not knowing much about a person who you are with. It’s even a death sentence to get into a marriage with a lying stranger! but online dating is worth trying.
