A great idea is to see if you can find a monitor that has multiple receivers. You can put one in each room as you go along your way. Most of these receivers have a light-up display as well. A major problem with having a lot of receivers is that some of them may create interferences amongst each other. You also need to select the right bandwidth. If you are in a large city, you may want a lower bandwidth compared to if you lived further in the country.
