Australian War Memorial - By: AceWeb

The city of Canberra seems like a beautiful monument to the young country, Australia’s aspirations. Its an urban setting expertly designed to show off the nation’s independent and edifying institutions. The city is an excellent destination for museum addicts, with wonderful fine art and historical collections. Canberra is like the nation’s political heart – its restaurants buzz with power-launchers hammering out strategy, while at the city’s bars political reporters hang about hoping for a bit of gossip or a wine-fuelled indiscretion.

Australia's almost too-tidy capital is cradled by mountain ranges and hills covered in bush land, beyond which are several amiable and attractive villages and also a budding number of cold-climate wineries. Half of the territory is confined as the national park or reserve, with plenty of chances to attract the hikers, campers and nature-lovers of all kinds.

Canberra was one place that I always wished to visit, because it has a kind of an amazing, vast and legendary history behind it. Dating back to the old centuries, it was actually considered to be the most important place during the time of war, as I was informed. This museum basically commemorates the lives of those who died for their country Australia and aims to create a better understanding of war.
There are umpteen numbers of positive aspects to this place. It has everything so well organized and co-ordinated that one feels blesses moving around the museum and seeing the artifacts peacefully without any disruptions.

The layout of the whole area and especially the place where war memorials are kept, is extremely neat. Also the aircraft displays will take your breath away. Its so spectacular! You will need at least a hour to see every thing then revisit your favorite exhibits because everything is separated into the different wars and the timings of that century. The people working in the Museum are so nice and helpful, as they tell you stories of the Second World War and the adventures yet sad phase of life, which many went through as they lost their lives. Apart from all the discussions, there is always fresh coffee and cakes for those who bring an appetite with that entire walk which can last up to almost 2 hours for the interested people.
