The holidays always bring delicious food and unique drinks with their celebrations. Who does not enjoy the feast that comes with the holidays? It doesn’t matter what you eat the rest of the year, as long as you can dive into the gourmet feast on the table.

Besides food, the holidays bring fun entertainment. There are concerts, plays, sports, and all other sorts of entertaining gatherings around this time of year. Plus, each holiday brings its own kind of entertainment to select from.

Halloween always has the best shows of the year. It can be hard to choose where to go, but as long as you are dressed in a costume, you can have fun anywhere. One of the hippest events for Halloween is KCRW’s yearly party. Plus, the cash you provide there goes right back into helping fund the station. Last year’s event featured none other than Mr. Henry Rollins DJing and dressed as his Superman self from circa 1990’s. This by itself was well worth the cost of the ticket.

Now if you prefer a more family oriented event, then you are the Thanksgiving kind of admirer. But each year, it appears football always divides the family gathering. Before you get to your final course of the meal, the men will have gradually disappeared into the living room to view the game. Try something different this year and set up the TV outside with some portable bleachers and see if all can be happy in one place. Make sure you have clear weather before you give this a try.

This sort of bleacher setup may also do well for Christmas. If you have a rather large family and not a bunch of area inside your house, then just set up a buffet, portable bleachers, and a big screen TV out in the back again. The kids will have the openness to play around and the men will feel at home in the grandstands; in fact, you will have made everyone happy.

The last holiday is the biggest of them all: New Year’s Eve. This is one of the most greatly anticipated nights of the whole year. New Year’s Day is the best time for rumination, but also the best time to party. The greatest place to be at each year is New York’s Times Square. You can rent a spot in the bleachers or stand around dancing while everyone waits for the big ball to drop.

As always, remember to make arrangements early for the season. Order your provisions, concert tickets, bleachers, or what you might need a good month in advance. This will assure you of fewer headaches and more fun with the in-laws.
