One of the first places that people turn to when they're looking to make money on the Internet is article marketing. This is one of the oldest techniques on the Internet, and to date one of the most successful. Perhaps one of the main reasons why people enjoy this method of making money on the Internet is the fact that there is a very low cost to entry, and the learning curve is not steep.

To begin with article marketing you first need a website that you can use to sell affiliate links, or advertisement spaces. Once you have this website set up it is then time to create the articles for your marketing plan. When all is said and done you don't need much more than a connection to the Internet and the computer to get started with the entire process.

Essentially article marketing is used to drive people to your website. This works because you take the time to submit articles to a directory which creates a presence for your website on the Internet. This presence is created through using targeted keywords that are designed to drive traffic to your site which contains the same keywords. It's a bit of a process, but not a difficult one and certainly within the grasp of most users.

The Internet is home to many different successful article directories, and it's important to understand that each one has its own specific set of guidelines that you must follow if you hope to successfully have your articles added to their database. Articles take time to write, so you want to make sure that you're writing them correctly from the start rather than having to make revisions as you go along. There is nothing more disheartening than the watching all of your submitted articles get rejected due to poor formatting.

After you have taken the time to submit articles to these directory websites it is now time to be patient. There is no way to hurry the process along, and if you end up annoying the site administrators by constantly asking why your article hasn't been accepted yet you will end up doing more to hurt the process than to help it. It's not unusual, or beyond the realm of reason, for this process to take up to a week.

After the directory decides to approve your articles you now have to wait yet again for them to start generating leads to your website. This can be the most frustrating part of article marketing. It always seems like a waiting game, yet in the end your patience will be rewarded.
