Arthritis is a disease that hurts body joints to move, probably because the bone joints are worn.
Arthritis is the leading cause of disability in people over the age of 55 and is a group of conditions that include damage to the compounds of the body. There are various forms of arthritis and osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, septic arthritis and gouty arthritis. Osteoarthritis is caused by trauma associations, associations of infection, or age. Rheumatoid arthritis and psoriatic arthritis caused by autoimmune diseases in which the body attacks to. The septic arthritis caused by joint infection and gouty arthritis is caused by deposition of uric acid crystals in the compound, causing inflammation.

The arthritis is a collection of more than 100 different diseases causing pain, inflammation, stiffness and functional problems in one or more joints.

Sometimes patients try to relate disease progression to different foods they eat. There is a special diet or miracle food that offer cure for patients with arthritis.

In some cases when patients avoid or rather when eating some foods, may show changes in the course of their disease. For example, patients suffering from rheumatoid arthritis or osteoarthritis are better when they grow in their diet as fat from fish. It is very important that the patients before making any changes in their diet in order to combat arthritis, to consult their doctor first.

Overweight or obese patients who have arthritis in the knees, the joint and spine suffer more because of the burden of joints with unnecessary weight. Also, excessive body weight increased risk of osteoarthritis.

Increased physical activity and exercise help in weight loss. But it is difficult for arthritis patients who have pain or other functional limitations in the joints.

Ways of reducing weight in these patients include a diet rich in nutrients but low in calories. Sports activities such as swimming can be fun and contribute to the loss of overweight.

Patients with rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis accompanied by inflammation, consumption of fish containing omega-3 fatty acids reduce the inflammatory reactions caused by the immune system of the patient.

Patients who eat fish 1 or 2 times a week can take advantage of the beneficial effect of omega-3 fatty acids. Also several studies have shown that consumption of fish with this frequency can be effective and to prevent other diseases such as asthma and prostate cancer.

Patients with gout, uric acid is a product of protein catabolism, accumulates in the joints like the big toe. Then cause pain and inflammation.

Patients with gout are a good idea to avoid alcohol, drink many soft drinks, and avoid eating too much meat, liver, kidney or brain. It is also good to avoid shellfish and anchovies.

It is important to emphasize that in many cases, arthritis may show improvement or deterioration without apparent reason.

The development of the disease may accidentally coincide with a nutritional change and not necessarily mean that a change of diet or a particular food is responsible for the improvement or worsening of arthritis.
