Arthritis – How to Relieve the Pain: - By: Abdullah Salim

Arthritis has many varying types which may be more than 100, all of them resulting in pain and stiffness of joints. In all the forms of arthritis, joints are inflamed resulting in pain and stiffness. However, this joint pain has varying degrees, duration and intensity, depending on the type one has contracted.

The two most prevalent types of arthritis are osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. The more common of them is osteoarthritis in which the patient contracts the disease in the joint cartilage which gets destroyed eventually. Patients also face bony outgrowth and bone spurring, resulting in losing particles of cartilage. Osteoarthritis is contracted primarily by aged people, who are 55 years or older. The basic areas that get hit through osteoarthritis include hands and feet, spine, knees and hips.

When a person has rheumatoid arthritis, the person’s white blood cells are affected. The white blood cells rapidly multiply and divide in the synovial membrane which is in the joints. As a result, the joints become inflamed in the joint capsule and the synovial membrane. When the joint becomes inflamed, the space in the synovial cavity reduces causing pain and stiffness. If pain is not immediately relieved and the person is not treated for arthritis, it can be quite problematic as the condition could also worsen and the cartilage may be completely destroyed.

There are various other types of arthritis other than osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. One such condition is called inflammatory arthritis that causes severe form of inflammation in the joints and tendons. Joints swell up, become inflamed, have severe pain in them and they become stiff as well. It thus becomes important that relief from such pain is sought otherwise daily activity cannot be performed.

The world is full of people who may be affected by one or the other form of arthritis. United States along has 43 million people, making up 16% of the population that is affected by arthritis, which may lead up to disability and nonfunctioning of limbs.

Children can also get affected by arthritis and relief is very important in their case. United States alone has 300,000 children facing arthritis related problems. Children have a low ratio to absorb pain and thus pain from arthritis has to be relieved in their case. Children are significantly susceptible to pain unlike adults and thus pain relief becomes far more important.

Using Alkaline Water for Relieving Pain:
One way to relieve the arthritic pain is to try alkaline water. Alkaline or ionized water has amazing benefits that one can derive by drinking it on a regular basis. Alkaline water can also help relieve pain from joints and reduce inflammation. The major problem with us that we do not care what we eat and how we eat our food. Our diet is extremely unbalanced, unhealthy and acidic in nature. Thus our body becomes acidic, resulting in pain and bad health. Drinking alkaline water can remove this acidity from our body as ionized water has an alkaline pH level. Of course, a balanced diet, rich in fruits and vegetables is very important, but having a good amount of alkaline water is also quite helpful in this case. Regular water will not be able to get rid of acidity from the body as much as alkaline water can. In addition, alkaline water is very easy to create at home too. Water ionizers are very readily available in the market and can be attached to the kitchen tap to obtain alkaline, ionized water, with great ease. Alkaline water can pull out acidity and perform detoxifying activities in the body resulting in good health and lesser pain.
