As time has passed media has become easily accessible to millions of the public, predominantly through technology. One of the impacts is that in this image conscious world it has become common for many of the community to crave the ‘desired’ body. Gyms have been set up to assist those wanting to maintain or obtain the image they wish for.

The craze to look good has affected society on a large scale with gym number present up 23% since 2001, to 41.3 million, according to the International Health, Racquet & Sportsclub Association (IHRSA) as a result there are various gyms available. There are many reasons for someone to decide which gym is appropriate for them; location, quality, what’s provided and price all contribute to your final decision.

Hunting for a gym can be a tiring experience, at the same time picking a gym spontaneously can have negative consequences. Why would you want to go some where that makes you feel uncomfortable or you simply don’t like? The answer is that you wouldn’t. A factor that can affect whether your time at the gym is pleasurable or not is the price, because who could concentrate when their mind ponders on how they are going to pay this months gym fees?

Prices range depending on the gym; from three gyms the estimated average gym price paid by customers is £40.65 monthly not including entrance fee. The three gyms used to make this figure were David Lloyds (£42), Fitness First (£39.95) and Virgin Active (£40). Fortunately though there are gyms out there with a lower price tag, The Gym Group. Its monthly fee being only £15, surprisingly enough the gym’s equipment is not lower in value. Simply put if you’re the type of person that doesn’t go to the gym for the pool or sauna the latter is for you.

All the gyms mentioned are positively known and as for the quality of the gym equipment it’s nearly impossible to hear a negative review, especially at The Gym Group where you can view the machines used in the gym on their website.

So even if you feel that you have to put up with overly expensive prices, inappropriate staff, gym equipment that would shatter apart at the slightest touch, or a gym that is so far away that it seems like it is on the opposite side of the world, know that there are other gyms out there; it may feel like a struggle to leave your original gym or start new completely but remember the right gym is out there to help you achieve that ‘desired’ body you crave.
