Every profession today has become very hectic and exhausting with workload increasing everyday like never before. The jobs in India have become burdensome and tiring as there is always a lack of time for other things and even rest or relaxation for that matter. Stress has become a very commonly known phenomenon as long working hours and being loaded with oodles of work is all what a professional talks about. Being overworked mostly gives birth to mental strain that leads to stress, frustration, burnouts or other such problems. But, it is very important to know on time if you are suffering on your job from any of these as a problem recognized too late may remain a problem unsolved.

The responsibilities to be shouldered at work along with managing home, sometimes, tend to be a little too much. It develops symptoms like depression, lack of energy and desire, low productivity, absenteeism, frustration or anger, boredom, insomnia and restlessness, etc. To recognize if you are dealing with stress or burnout, check out for the following signs:

Feeling morally low or depressed:
If you feel low or sad for more than few days, it is clear that there is something wrong or uneventful in your life. When you know your Job isn’t giving you that satisfaction anymore, your excitement dies out and you have got nothing to look forward to. You need to work this out and pull yourself out of this phase.

Being always sluggish:
When your days have become full of fatigue leaving you low on spirits and energy, consider what is that can motivate you to work better. The air of lethargy and unwillingness can only push you further in the realm of depression and so, it is very important for you to alter this attitude as soon as possible.

Lack of motivation:
There was earlier a desire and an inclination towards doing the work in the best way possible but now you see it doesn’t make much difference to you. If you are not encouraged by the goals set anymore, there is definitely a lack of motivation and desire for you. Start working on it immediately.

Low productivity:
Incompletion of work is becoming almost like a routine to you whereas you have been encouraging the team earlier for timely delivery of work. You were always dependable but now are constantly missing deadlines of all the projects as it is not so crucial for you today. Check on this and take an action quick.

Continuous absenteeism:
Are you not able to drag yourself out of the bed every morning? Are you beginning to hate the idea of going to work? If you are always looking for opportunities to escape work while you have been always enthused about it formerly, you know you are stressful or burned out more appropriately.

Boredom and restlessness:
Has your mind been persistently wandering? Are you not able to relax and feeling burdened even without doing the work? If answers to these questions are positive, you must understand that you need to take care of yourself. Delve deeper into the issue and try to know what is bothering you.

Constant frustration and anger at work:
Losing temper once in a while on your colleagues or subordinates is still normal but if the frequency seems to be rising everyday, you have to pay attention. The constant frustration can lead to an abusive nature soon and if you keep scolding your co-workers, your presence may become totally unacceptable.

Also, check on your sleep related problems like insomnia or your sudden liking for alcohol and smoke, you will know when the bell rings. Don’t overwork yourself and keep taking breaks ever and anon to rejuvenate yourself.
