You already know that the Android OS has been adopted by cellular phone developers from all over the place. By now you will have heard from multiple sources that the "Google phones" are competing neck and neck for other smart phones for popularity. It is absolutely true that the Google phones are growing more and more popular every day. It might be because the Google phones that are hitting the market now are modeled on smart phones that have already become exceedingly popular. This shows that Google pays attention to trends and buying practices and tries to give the public what it wants. Here are some fun facts about phones that run the Android OS that you might not already know.

We found one website that said Google didn't invent Android. We are very aware of the fact that Google is given all of the credit for creating this OS and these phones. In fact many people simply call them “Google phones” when they are checking them out. From what we learned, however, the original creators of the Android OS are Rich Miner and Andy Rubin. They invented the OS in 2003 and later sold it to the Google corporatoin for a lot of money. In spite of the 2003 purchase, Google decided to sit on the OS for a few years while it was further developed and improved and readied for the cellular market.

The majority of iPhone users are brand enthusiasts. They purchased the iPhone not because of features or functions but because it was created by Apple. Apple's overall fan base is perhaps larger than some other brands. Consumers of Android OS are not yet as committed to their product. Android OS users are more likely to choose their phone based on prices and technology rather than options.

Without a doubt, iPhone users are so loyal to the product brand they will recommend it to others. The same is not quite as true for Android users.

Rumors are spreading across the web that there is a possibility of Google developing an Android OS that is memory card compatible. Until now, this is one of the major benefits that the Apple iPhone had over the Google Android phones of the past. If this happens for the Android phones it will totally change the popularity index between the two phones. It won't be surprising if there are soon Android phones that are able to accommodate memory cards so large they make the iPhones look like children's toys. The Google corporation is very competitive--the minds behind it always want to out do their competitors. There are so many facts and rumors surrounding Google phones. The simple fact is that Google phones (the phones that use the Android OS) are becoming more widely spread throughout the cell phone market. Cellular developers like Samsung, Motorola and HTC are all using the Android operating system now. The good news is that smart phones are easier to afford and easier to buy now. We're sure you'd like to hear both sides of the issue but right now all of the information on smart phones is positive.
