Executive coaching is designed to enhance the performance, thought process and behaviour of existing or potential management or leadership talented people.

In order to meet the challenging demands of todays business world, particularly with the uncertain financial times we will be faced with over the next few years it can be invaluable to experience some executive coaching.

Executive coaching can take the form of one to one sessions, in the form of conversations between clients and their coach. It is recommended that clients have 6 - 12 of these sessions however it is important the length is mutually agreed so client gets the full benefit.

Executive coaching sessions can be over the phone or face to face; last between 90 - 120 minutes with four to six weeks between each sessions. Executive coaching can be used in a variety of ways for leaders or potential leaders of all levels, something worth experiencing.

Executive coaching methodologies vary between companies, consultants and coaches; however they should all, arguably have an underlying theme. The leaders or potential leaders aim is not to become perfect in any one part of leadership, rather an all rounder that can ensure they offer what is needed to utilise the strengths and weaknesses of their team.

Executive coaching is designed for leaders in small, medium and large sized businesses, charities and organisations. It is vital that strong leaders are developed in order to cultivate successful businesses and organisations.

If like myself you are sceptical about Executive Coaching and the benefits it may bring, have a further read and give it a try as there are companies out there who will offer you a free session before asking you to commit.

This article has only just scratched the surface of what is potentially quite a large topic, in short it is important to find executive coaches with experience in the field, of leadership and from a variety of backgrounds and sectors.
