The former is known as ordinary or tap water that is generally considered potable and safe for a wide range of uses. The latter comes with so many names (e.g. distilled, deionized, or demineralized water) depending upon who uses and what process it underwent. When used in autoclaves, a deionized water, for instance, may become known as autoclave water. As a chemical solvent, it becomes analytical or HPLC water.
