An Environmental Friendly Manner of Accentuating Your Homes and Workplace - By: Allan Michael Taylor

Bamboo is a slightly pleasurable article to look at, be it at home or the workplace. For this reason, it has become one of the favourite materials for ornaments and embellishments worldwide.

Bamboo is a plant that can grow up to seventy-five meters in full length. It has a life span of 7-8 years, after which it naturally decays to give way to the growth of new culms. Unlike hardwood, bamboos have fast natural decay and growth – making it suitable for harvests. This natural resiliency exhibited by bamboos enables it to become a great source for decorative materials minus the guilt of contributing to environmental depletion.

Currently, bamboos are made into window shades. Bamboo shades are preferred for its calming effect as it reflects warmth and cosiness unto the place. Bamboo shades allow just low light to enter the room which can set a nicely subtle mood into the place. Bamboo window shades come in varied cuts and styles. All you have to do is to choose the perfect piece to complement your existing furniture.

There are lots of designs of bamboo window shades. The designs vary according to weaving patterns and the width of bamboo slats used. Traditional bamboo shades from Japan are very finely woven, using thinner slats of bamboo. Nowadays, however, one can choose from somewhat coarsely woven patterns using thicker slats of bamboo which are introduced as the more current trend in bamboo designs and details. There are also beautiful shades that are flat panelled which come in a wide array of width sizes and lengths.

Having bamboo shades is synonymous with bringing a natural touch into your homes and space. Nothing beats the amazing natural beauty of bamboos and having a piece of it in your homes and spaces can add a unique sense of style at minimum expense. Be it in a living room space or bedroom, using bamboo window shades can give you cooler temperature as it traps the heat from entering your room. This heat-reflecting property of bamboo shades does not only make them an artistic piece but also as an added element of comfort.

The use of bamboo as material for shades is not expensive. This is because of the obvious reason that bamboos are widely available and are naturally occurring in many places. In fact, bamboos are not very selective of the environmental conditions of where they can thrive. Bamboos can withstand even the harshest weather conditions such as extreme cold, tropical temperature, winds and heavy rains. This popularity of bamboos when it comes to growth is the main factor why it is availed at low costs.

Bamboos are very popular in China. Sometimes, the term bamboo rings the idea of panda bears munching on the plant as it is their primary food. The use of bamboos would not endanger these animal species, though, as bamboos are easily replaced by natural means. In fact, the way that it grows and decays allows as the very chance of turning it into a useful material without necessarily damaging the environment that immediately surrounds it.
