Allergy Medicine During Pregnancy - By: keelinorla

The most common form of headache experienced during pregnancy is migraine that occurs when the blood vessels in the brain constrict and dilate. Experts say that about one in every five women experience migraine headache at least once in their lifetime and about 15 percent of them get migraines for the first time when become pregnant.

Several studies have shown that mother's diet during pregnancy can increase or decrease the risk of allergies and asthma in children. A German study (Sausenthaler et al) found that certain foods, including margarine, raw sweet pepper and citrus, and also deep fried food, increase risk of some kinds of allergies, whereas a diet rich in omega-3 essential fatty acids (those found in fish and raw nuts) had a protective effect on children.

Human breast milk contains nutrients that are easily digested contribute to healthy brain development and growth, and provide immunity to infectious agents that the mother (and also the infant) will encounter in their environment. In building an infant's immune system, breast milk acts on many levels. It contains anti-inflammatory substances that infants cannot manufacture on their own; stimulates the production of IgA, which can neutralize a substance foreign to the body before it becomes an allergen; and populates the child's immature intestinal barrier with beneficial microflora, which blocks the growth of disease-causing bacteria.

The key ingredients in the oil of fatty fish are two specific omega 3 fatty acids. Called "essential fatty acids" because the body cannot make them on its own so they must be consumed in the diet or supplements, the two key omega 3's are Docosahexaenoic acid or DHA, and Eicosapentaenoic acid, or EPA.

Getting rid of "wind evils," in the theory of two thousand years ago, involved activating the same kind of energy involved in elimination of waste from digested food and drink, the energy of the intestines. Exactly why the ancient masters of Chinese medicine might suppose that the energy of the large intestine somehow was connected to the space between your thumbs and index fingers is a subject that can't be explained in just a few hundred words, but the acupuncture point there, known as LI4, is one of the most important for elimination.

Constituents of chamomile considered to be most pharmacologically active include the terpenoids (e.g., alphabisabolol and bisabolol oxide derivatives, farnesene, matricine, and chamazulene). These constituents are derived from the essential oil obtained from the flower head of the plant. Other important constituents that are more hydrophilic include the flavonoids (e.g., apigenin and luteolin), coumarins, and a mucilage.

Perfectly safe when done OUTSIDE, and in small doses! Sitting in a room full of billowing smoke is not healthy ( carbon monoxide), which is usually why smudging is contraindicated during pregnancy. Prolonged smudging without proper ventilation is a recipe for miscarriage. If you are looking to cleanse your aura and prepare for ritual, salted baths are lovely, however, many essential oils need to be avoided in your mixtures.
