Every year, airlines are spending considerable amount of money to maintain and manufacture aircraft. These aircrafts are made in such a way so that they are safe and able to withstand any kind of problem which can lead to accident. These are made very much safe so that they can protect lives and other important equipment.

The main metal used for making structure of the aircraft is aluminum. Pure aluminum and pure magnesium are not suitable for making the frame of the aircraft. Pure form of these metals has low strength. But when the metals are found in alloyed form or chemically mixed with each other; then strength of this form improves vastly. And this kind of alloy makes good frame for the aircraft.

This kind of alloy includes metals like copper, zinc, silicon manganese, lithium. These alloys can be utilized singly or in conjunction with other metal. Aircraft aluminum is specifically crafted to give shape of the frame of the airplane. This kind of metal is specially treated to make the structure of the aircraft stronger.

When any kind of metal is molded and given other shape then it is known as the extrusion. Aluminum extruded is found to be one of the most common types of metal extrusion. With the proper punch of number of hollow cavities, we can get different things including aircraft aluminum from extruded aluminum.

Apart from aluminum extruded, there are other metals which can be extruded. Extrusion is done by changing the temperature of the metal and then the metal changes its shape. There are different kinds of extrusions- hot extrusion, warm extrusion and cold extrusion. To run the extrusion process, different tools and machineries are used. In the hot extrusion process, heat has to be high and after melting the metal, it should be taken into account that metal should not be hardened. Hydraulic press is used for this kind of process and thus, it is the most expensive type of extrusion.

In cold extrusion, this process is done below the room temperature. This is done for the finished products and it ensures the good surface finish.

In warm extrusion, temperature is kept in moderation and this temperature is kept below the recrystallization temperature and more than room temperature.

Thus, it is to conclude that when you use aluminum extruded or any other extruded metal, you should keep the final product in your mind.
