There are many things that a business can do in order to boost productivity and one of those is to print their own checks. There are also times when a business may have to print their own checks and have specialized software as well as cartridges that are going to assist them in having the security that they need. If you have been considering this for your own business needs, it is likely that you're going to have some questions, not only about the type of printing that you're going to be doing but about the toner that you are going to be using as well. Here are some common questions and the answers to those questions.

Perhaps the best place to start is at the beginning. If you're going to be doing any type of MICR printing, it's important for you to understand exactly what that stands for. MICR is an acronym that stands for magnetic ink character recognition. This allows for encoding the checks that are being written as well as for deposit slips for the maximum amount of security. In order for this to take place, you're going to need to have the right fonts as well as the right cartridges that will allow you to do so. As far as MICR toner is concerned, this will allow for the ink that is put on the check to be magnetically charged. In turn, this will allow the check to be read by a high speed machine and it will help to verify the fact that it is authentic.

Another question that people have is if it is possible to use any printer to print these checks. Yes, it is possible to use any printer but the difference is going to be in the eighth that is used. As long as you have access to the right in cartridges, you can print the checks that are necessary. That doesn't necessarily mean, however, that you would want to use a standard desktop printer in order to print checks that were of this caliber. There are many printers that are available which can give you additional security features which you are sure to find invaluable. So while it may be possible for you to use HP toner cartridges in any HP printer, it may be to your benefit to choose a printer with some of these features.

One of the features that you would want to consider is security. This security can be in several different ways, including locking out anyone that does not have access to the printer as well as locking the document tray so that nobody has access to any printed documents. Incidentally, it is also important in many cases that you protect the unprinted paper. There are printers that are available which are specific to that purpose and you should choose those if you're working in an environment that is not 100% secure. It is not only a protection for you, it is a protection for anybody else who happens to be working with you.
