Acne can have a short-term, potentially lasting psychological effect. Decreased self-esteem and confidence can lead to social taking out and even depression.

Causes of Acne

Family/Genetic history. The tendency to expand acne runs in families. For example, school-age boys with acne often have other members in their family with acne as well.

A family history of acne is linked with an earlier occurrence of acne and an increased number of retentional acne lesions.

Hormonal activity, such as menstrual cycles and puberty. During teenage years, increases in male sex hormones call androgens cause the follicular glands to get larger and make more sebum.

Inflammation, skin irritation or scratching of any sort will make active inflammation. Anti-inflammatories are recognized to improve acne.

Symptoms of Acne

Acne vulgaris usually appear on the face and shoulders, but infection of the back is also quite common. Whiteheads develop opening, as the hair follicles become clogged and infected. A whitehead is a small, pinhead-sized spot.

As the hair follicle expands from its interior pressure, the contents push upwards and turn a darker color, form blackheads.

Treatment of Acne

1. Get a nonprescription acne medicine and apply regularly. Over-the-counter drugs contain sulfur, resorcinol, salicylic acid, and benzoyl peroxide, are all effective for treating mild acne.

2. Use ordinary hygiene on exaggerated areas, washing your face once or twice daily with your natural soap or cleanser. Deodorant soaps may be used, but they are of no rigorous value for acne.

Home Remedies for Acne

Make a paste by addition honey and cinnamon powder. Apply this paste on the pimples before latent and wash it next dawn with warm water. Repeat for two weeks, pimples will vanish forever.

Rub fresh garlic on and about pimples. Pimples will evaporate without a mark with regular applications.

Mix 1 tablespoon groundnut oil with 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice to foil arrangement of blackheads and acne.

Ground drumstick pods and leaves and mix varied with fresh lime juice, and apply on pimples. This is also good for blackheads and dark spots.

Apply juice of raw papaya (counting the skin and seed) on bulge pimples or acne.

Apply fresh lime juice varied to a glass of boiled milk as a face wash for pimples, blackheads, and fractured skin.

Mix lime juice and rose water in equal portions. Apply on exaggerated area. Wash it off after 20-30 minutes with lukewarm water.

Apply ripe tomato or cucumber pulp on acne pimples and keep upto 1 hour, then wash.
