Bamboos have been and still are a popular material for window shades in East Asian countries such as Japan. It is a traditional piece of article that brings Japanese homes both style and functionality unmatched. Nowadays, the use of bamboo for window shades has expanded to an international consumption like in the US. Bamboo shades have become one of the most desirable artistic pieces that accentuate both the home and the workplace.

Bamboos are sourced primarily from China and from other many parts of Asia. In China, bamboos are esteemed and regarded as one of the four noble elements and one of the four aspects of the Junzi in Confucian ideology. The use of bamboo as a material for construction has been a traditional element in Chinese culture. There are many interesting uses of bamboos in China and the Chinese popular usage of the bamboo brought about their invention of the only two processes through which bamboos are converted into textile.

Though bamboo use has been traditionally associated with Asian culture, the West has started to embrace the practice of using bamboo in many household and workplace articles such as window shades. Bamboo shades are stylish pieces that can add beauty to your space while expressing certain uniqueness.

The use of bamboo shades are preferred because of the many advantages that come with it. They filter the light that comes inside, allowing only low-density light to enter the room. Unlike other blinds, it can filter even the light patterns- giving your room dramatically nice effects. As the material blocks the heat from penetrating your space, you get a cooler atmosphere for extra comfort.

The shades are of different colours, textures and patterns. The most popular among consumers is the monochromatic type. It is usually earth-colour and is preferred because of its very natural appearance that can easily go well with any styles. Bringing a touch of nature into your space can successfully bring to colour the characteristics of your furniture pieces. They are perfect- be it in a modern apartment or in a traditional dwelling space. The use of bamboo as material for shades exudes confidence in design and style. There are no inhibitions as to whether it would complement existing pieces of furniture.

As bamboos are naturally-occurring and are renewable sources, they bring a sense of style without the high price on the tag. Bamboos have natural decay and growth. They are ready for harvest between their third and sixth years. Harvesting bamboos do not do harm to the environment. It is actually taking advantage of a natural process that happen with or without human intervention. Getting the mature culms actually provide an opportunity for new culms to grow thereby, helping it to regenerate rather than deplete the source.

The prices of bamboos vary upon availability of the material. As previously mentioned, they are imported mainly from East Asian countries. However, bamboos do not weigh that much hence, their shipping costs are not that high. These factors, plus its rich availability make the bamboo available at a cheap cost.
